Career Shift ("we", "us") publishes research on how AI is reshaping careers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who processes it. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and never sell your personal information.

Information we collect

• Contact form. When you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you submit, so we can respond.
• Newsletter & quiz sign-ups. If you subscribe to our newsletter or ask for quiz results by email, we collect your email address. These sign-ups are handled by our email provider, Kit (formerly ConvertKit).
• Usage analytics. We use a self-hosted install of Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, referrer, approximate region, device type). Umami does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites.

How we use it

• To reply to messages you send us.
• To send the newsletter you requested (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To understand, in aggregate, which content is useful and how the site performs.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of processors to operate the site:

• Kit (ConvertKit) — email newsletter delivery and subscriber management.
• Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery for this static site.
• Umami — self-hosted, cookieless usage analytics.

Some articles contain affiliate links to learning platforms (for example, Udemy). When you click one, that platform may set its own cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy. See our editorial approach for how affiliate relationships work. We earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.

Cookies

Career Shift does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our analytics are cookieless. Third-party platforms you choose to visit through our links may set their own cookies.

Data retention

We keep contact-form messages only as long as needed to handle your inquiry. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from email at any time using the link in any newsletter. To make a request, use our contact page.

Children

Career Shift is intended for adults making career decisions and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
